Church Affair

Hi everyone,
Since there are lots of events at this time of the year, the ones that will keep things in perspective involve the matter of the heart and why not do them in style.
In this outfit, I went for white material with navy blue polka dots (got the material in kariakoo- everything is out there)and did my famous peplums - yes peplums works for me

Office party

Hi dolls
Its Monday again, We are thankful for yet another day. What  I want to day is to ask you viewers on ideas that I have.
My office end of the year party is just around the corner and I am abit physched on the ideas that I have. These ideas are combination of my web-browsing and good friends ideas. I have the advantage of having the fundis at my disposal so this is what I have in mind. What do you think?

1. Do a  sexy Kitenge outfit with a western touch

Its easy to get sequin material and pull this look, although the boob area is abit too exposed for me
Yes yes I might not have this body but I can definitely pool the look - confidence what! what!. I will use the Masai  material

2. Do a touch of kitenge/other material on dull outfit
a kitenge peter pan collar

I have this gold sequin that i can make it to this
I have this fitted dress that i can add lather on
3. Lace it up

This lace is easy to obtain

So what do you think?, what should I go for?

Peplum moment

Hi dolls,
As agreed by many, we will see more of peplums towards the end of the year. Majority of us ....okay, me - I confess that when I tried my first peplum top, lets just say it was not a match made in heaven  and later on I came to understand why;
For a peplum to fit well you should consider the following:
1. Fit - a proper fit on the waist is required... that works for me - the fit at the waist that creates the whole effect
2. What to pair it with -  For a peplum top, always pair it with fitted pencil skirt or a skin jeans; as Stella of Jadore Fashion will say, "if its full at the top keep the bottom fitted and smooth".

Be inspired- curvy gals

Hi everyone!,
Now this is that time of the year where we have so many events, so many functions, you must have been on your toes on what to wear. I think every woman will agree with me that from time to time we all believe that our bodies do not fit nicely in a certain outfits or designs.
Well today I have decided to start with curvy ladies. You ladies are extra blessed in some areas. My opinion is (please share yours) if its too tight or too revealing its trashy. For an outfit to emulate class and confidence it should fit you well. If its a fit-cut then it should be just tight enough and not too tight. The other thing is how much should you reveal - if you have decided to reveal up then i suggest the bottom should be covered and vice versa

Skin at the top, wrapped up at the bottom

Style it up: Kitenge for work

I decided to post this after seeing one of my favourite bloggers NuSophisticate  talking about office wear, although what she has shown so far is all western, she talks about coming up with your own way of putting pieces together. Yes, we are not the first ones to do this but we can contribute.
I think a lot of people are scared to do a kitenge to work.... i did too. But I later on came to realise very few people do it and when you do..... make it minimal cause you are not trying to go all cultured here.

For this piece; we got the material from Kitumbini and because of the prints my gal Katie decided to go bold by pairing her skirt with a red shirt

Doreen's Own

Its always fun and mind blowing to dress my girl Doreen. Her sense of fashion is sincerely classy. She always has fresh ideas and she knows her body and what works for her. So when we got this kitenge I suggested the asymmetrical skirt the rest is all her.
I caught her when she was rushing to get to a wedding
